You gotta love cozy Sunday afternoons. It is looking snowy outside, and Lucy is keeping warm.

Our fireplace would look so pretty if we didn't have to barricade it. |
I met up with some Supper Club peeps for a Dim Sum brunch this morning. This should be a weekend tradition. I'll post more about this over on the supper club blog, but they had all kinds of steamed dumplings, fried wontons, stuffed mushrooms and pot stickers. We also indulged in sesame balls and custard tarts for dessert.

Yes, that is spicy pepper sauce slathered all over my plate. Yes, I eat it on just about everything. |
I love this time of year because it is impossible to make it inside a grocery store without buying multiple boxes of Girl Scout Cookies. Twist my arm.

I also used a Charming Charlie's gift card to buy some more tattoo covers bracelets for the ole day job. |
G has been sick since he got back from Germany, so instead of exploring, we took it easy this weekend. Which means that in addition to doing homework, I got to catch up on some TV shows. I've been watching Top Chef New Orleans every now and then (gotta love Comcast On Demand), and caught the season finale yesterday. Since I make G wear these headphones (i.e. "marriage savers") when he plays his X-Box, he makes me wear them when I watch Top Chef. For some reason he doesn't care about flavor profiles and textures.

You can tell by my totally hunched posture that I was wayyy into this episode. |
I just finished reading a long critical essay about Willa Cather's role in American modernism, and am *trying* to get ahead of this week's work and whip up a response essay for
Song of the Lark. It's not looking promising because snowy Sunday afternoons are actually made for napping. Sabbath means rest day and all that.
Also? We have made it a week and a half in this new lifestyle where I no longer have a 9-5 job! We are not in the poor house yet! The roof hasn't collapsed! We aren't even tempted to give Lucy Bell back to the Dumb Friends League!
I think we just might make it!
