It's the Little Things

It's not the big things that are getting me right now.  New jobs?  Cool.  Grad school?  No problem.

It's the little things.  All the daily chores and errands and car issues and homework and reading assignments and millions of questions from students.  I get home at night and have nothing left over.  And my poor lil blog is suffering.

I did manage to add some color to the side-guest-room, though:

Three fake sunflowers for $6.00 total.  Gotta love Hobby Lobby.
I'm trying to find small ways to add pops of color around the house.  There seems to be too much beige and brown.

And too much black and white.

When Conan isn't on, Lucy has taken to watching the Olympics.  Here are her two main positions these days.

Feet in.

Feet out.

I have not managed to read any new books for fun.  In fact, I'm just barely staying ahead of our class discussions.  Two papers down, five more to go.  I'm desperately trying to get through our Lit Society book in time for our next meeting; the pressure is on because it was my pick.

BUT BUT BUT!  We had Nat King Cole and Chef Campo over for dinner tonight!  Major accomplishment on my part, cooking for a legit chef!  And I have not a single picture of it.  I'm such a bad blogger these days.  In case you're wondering, I made homemade spaghetti sauce (and non-homemade spaghetti) and a killer peach cobbler.  My arteries are like, thanks.

I'm getting used to my wacky schedule and hope to bombard you with incredibly interesting, relevant and mind altering posts again soon.

Best card ever.  Nice inverse of the Biblical "love never fails."  Is inverse the right word?  Am I actually asking that while pursuing a Master's in English??
Ok, loves.  Time to get back to Song of the Lark.  Time to spend most of the day in my pj's tomorrow.  When's the next three-day weekend?
