A House Divided

The Washington Nationals are in town so we headed to the ballpark last night for a little baseball action.  G is all about the Nats and I'm all about anything in CO, which means I rooted for the Rockies, which means we were a house divided.

It is officially summer here (I think spring lasted for like, a week) and I'm beginning to understand what my coworkers mean by "Africa hot."  It was well into the nineties when we got to the park, but the wind cut the heat, and it quickly cooled off to a tolerable 80-something once the sun dropped a bit in the sky.

See the dark spot at the edge of the field?  It's a bunch of trees, kind of like a mini park.  I tried to get a good pic of it with my phone, and this is the best I could do.  When the Rockies hit a home run (and they hit several last night!) they shoot water up from that area.  It turns into a series of fountains; it's really cool.

I knew that going to a game in the middle of a work week would make for a looooong day, and things are crazy in the office right now, and I wasn't sure I wanted to go to the game.  Then I realize if I went home after work, I'd just have to study for the dang GRE!  So I was like, let's go!

And the Rockies won.

I heart Denver.
