The best news ever

So the best news ever is that G's job is transferring him to CO at the end of this month!  After months and months of waiting and wondering (and worrying) and taking turns being a single parent to the geriatric bun bun, we have light at the end of the tunnel!

Sticking with this best news theme, I also got to see BFJ and meet my new niece (her niece too).  Would you even believe me if I told you that we were too busy chatting to take any pictures?  I know, I know, this is such a travesty.  (And it's not entirely true.  We had the waitress take a picture, because of course we spent the majority of our time together eating, but when we looked at it, BFJ goes, "that is not my best angle." So although I like the pic of her, I like my friendship even more so I won't post it here.)

Instead I will show you the "guest room" I made up for her:

I firmly believe it does the soul good to sleep surrounded by books.

And a quick pic of the ambiance of a nice restaurant we pigged out ate at:

Picture BFJ sitting right there in the booth...

I am going to create a Fortress of Solitude for myself today.  I tentatively agreed to go to a new friend's house to watch the Broncos game, but I think I'm going to politely back out and catch up on some much needed apartment time around here.  (How many adjectives can I use in one sentence??)  Plus, I don't have a blue and orange ensemble yet and she told me not to even bother coming over if I didn't dress the part.  SO.  I don't think they would appreciate the fact that the only sports-related gear I have is bright red and white in support of an Arkansas college football team.

In case you're wondering, Orca is up to her usual antics:

As you can see, she and I lead very active lifestyles these days.
It occurs to me that once G gets here, I won't be able to lay on the couch for long periods of time and watch every TV show known to man.  Because he's going to, like, want to use the TV, too.  Hmmmm. Maybe I can just convince him to do everything on his iPad with Vampire Diaries blaring on the big screen...
