I think it got down to -4 degrees last night. I don't know, though, because I was under too many covers to check the temperature on my phone. There was no way I was going to risk frostbite by taking an arm out from underneath everything. Luckily during the day it's been getting up to a whopping 5 degrees! Sometimes all the way to 12! I have never lived in a place that even approached these temps.
I have not walked to work in a couple of weeks because of other things going on and I was going to start again this morning. And then I saw that the wind chill is -16 degrees. At which point I threw my walking clothes back into the closet and made a cup of coffee and settled in to write this post. Hello, car! It's me and you again today, buddy!
It's coming to an end though because it's supposed to be in the 50's soon, which will be downright tropical at this point.
C texted me this pic from the football game this weekend. Notice that her beer is freezing. I asked her how in the world she sat above the mile marker for hours on end in below-freezing temps; she said that layers helped and after a while things go pleasantly numb.
I'm going to VA next week for work, so we had to scramble to find a place around here that will board rabbits (her vet is not equipped as a medical boarding facility).
Where's Orca? She likes to try to disappear at first. |
Then she comes to her senses and remembers she is the center of everyone's attention. |
Then she settles in and milks it for all it's worth. |
