Discoveries

A few discoveries I have made while bonding with the fam this weekend.

DISCOVERY #1:  Pinkberry is a fantastic place to get frozen yogurt.  Hello?  Why didn't I realize this before?

It's frozen yogurt, not ice cream, so I can eat as much as I want, with as many topics as I want, and not gain weight.

DISCOVERY #2:  Absence makes the heart grow fonder.  There's nothing like hanging around a mother who doesn't believe in drinking (so to speak) to make one's mouth water for wine, beer, cocktails...moonshine...whatever!

I find myself sipping my water at meals and gazing adoringly at the people in the booth next to us drinking who-knows-what.  I just want to lean over and say, "I'll pay you $50 for a sip of whatever that is."

DISCOVERY #3:  I am a blogger.  I've been having internet issues for the past few days and I have become increasingly on edge because of it.  With my limited grasp of technology, and with G's input, I think our issues are due to living in an apartment where there are a trillion wi-fi and cell phone signals competing for atomic space or something.  But lately my internet signal keeps dropping and I haven't been able to blog or read other blogs and then it hit me:  this has gone from a hobby to a habit.  Today I bit all my nails off and finally yanked the cat 5 cable out of G's X-box and plugged in straight into the laptop.  I'm sitting cross-legged on the floor with the computer perched on an ottoman and I don't care.  I will be having my morning coffee down here if it means I can resume my virtual life again.

Is this a freaky pic or what?  My bro was cracking me up and snapped this.  I look like the worst Disney villain ever.

DISCOVERY #4:  Someone has been reading this blog and wrote a book about it:

I expect royalties.

The third season of Downton Abbey starts tonight and I can't even wait.  If I still lived on the East Coast I would have seen it by now.  **sigh**  That's ok, I'll take this instead:

  1. I have a similar blogger identity - or maybe I come and go as to how intensely I want to do it. Most of the time I am motivated to post things because we have no family in 1000 miles. But it also helps now to have about 6 1/2 years of posts and it feels like a wonderful scrapbook that took so little effort to create.

  2. Love this post. Can't wait to visit again. I expect non-caloric yogurt in our future AND pretty mixed drinks!
