Rockin' (or Waltzing) Around the Christmas Tree

Christmas music is one of the best things about this season.  I listen to it on my walk to work and I feel like at any moment I will lift from the ground and just float the rest of the way in.  I'm waiting for that feeling to kick in on the stairs but it hasn't happened yet.

Here are a few really good ones.

Some Traditional or Classic Faves

1.  It's a tie between Oh Holy Night and Carol of the Bells.  It is not possible to decide which is better so they are both number 1.

Oh Holy Night (by Celine Dion)
Carol of the Bells (by Barlowgirl or by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge)

2.  What Child is This (by Kari Jobe or by the Irish Christmas and Celtic Christmas Nolag)

3.  Ave Maria (by Celine Dion or by Christina Perri)

4.  The Holly and the Ivy (by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge)

5.  Silver Bells (by Martina McBride)

6.  Emmanuel God with Us (by Amy Grant)

7.  The Nutcracker:  Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy (by the London Symphony Orchestra)

8.  Baby It's Cold Outside (by Lady Antebellum)

9.  Little Drummer Boy (by Jars of Clay)

10.  Sleigh Ride (by The Ronettes)

A Little Something Different

1.  Twelve Hawaiian Days of Christmas (by Na Leo)

2.  Donde Esta Santa Claus (by Augie Rios)

3.  God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen (by the Barenaked Ladies)

4.  Santa Baby (by Madonna)

5.  All I Want is You (by Mariah Carey)

6.  Silent Night (by Taylor Swift)

7.  Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas (by Ingrid Michaelson)

8.  I Saw Three Ships (by the Choir of King's College, Cambridge)

9.  The Night Before Christmas (by Amy Grant)

10.  Last Christmas (by Taylor Swift)

I'm looking for more songs to add to my commute playlist.  Any suggestions?

  1. I love my Christmas playlist, too. I don't add to it very often, but I have many of the ones you listed. Totally agree with your 2 top picks. I vote for the Martina McBride version of O Holy Night, though. This year I downloaded Carol of the Bells (PTXmas - Pentatonix) - it's a very fun version. Also What Child is this by Andrea Bocelli and Mary J Blige. Oh and Christmas(Baby Please come Home) Lady Antebellum - love this version. I really like I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day by Casting Crowns. Then of course we have Alana's personal fave...Last Christmas (Glee version).
