A Week of Thanksgiving, Day 1

I am so happy that Thanksgiving is this week!  In a couple of days, the work chaos will die down, schools will let out, families will get together and eat, eat, eat.

I wanted to take a few days, now that the dust has settled (somewhat) in my life, and remember what I am thankful for.

"The gospel assures me that God cares about everything I do and will listen to my prayers.  He may not answer them the way I want, but if he doesn't it is because he knows things I do not.  My degree of success or failure is part of his good plan for me.  God is my source of strength and perseverance."

~ part of the intro written by Katherine Leary Alsdorf

*I am thankful that this book arrived this week.  I have a great excuse to set down the tome I have been reading, and really dive into this one.  I need some perspective on my work and my life, in light of the gospel.

*The olive oil up the schnoz is working!  I haven't had a headache in over a week!  God bless my doctor and her freakish remedies.

*The apartment is starting to feel like home, just in time for the holidays.  Things are in their right place, decorations are up, and it's pretty cozy.

Now if I could just get these two out here:

*I am thankful that the next few weeks will be interspersed with holidays and regular days off from work.  And that stores are decorated so beautifully, and people tend to be a bit more gracious around the holidays.

*I am thankful for the option of walking to work.  And that when I do drive (which has been almost every day lately!) it takes me about 10 minutes.  WHAT A BREAK this is for me.

*I had a great weekend with this one.  She goes back today; I take my coworker, C, to the airport tomorrow; and then I pick up G on Wednesday.  Which makes me thankful that the airport is just down the road.  :)

*Lastly, I am thankful that this Monday is starting off in such a relaxed way for me.  It will end later this afternoon with yet another trip to the DMV.  This time for license plates.

What are you thankful for today?  :)

  1. I'm thankful to be married to an optimist, to get to stay home with my kids, and to not have to go anywhere near a South Florida airport this week!
