I've been sore for a week straight. So sore, in fact, that when G and I were in the bike store the other day and I knocked something off a shelf onto the floor, I just stood there and looked down at it until he picked it up. I literally could not do one more bend or one more squat for the life of me.
But! It's done!
BEFORE
AFTER
The colored stones make a path to the gate into the back yard. I recycled them with some spray paint in order to add some color and get away from All This Brown. |
The crappy phone pic in the early morning light doesn't really do it justice, buy anyhoo. I was going for simple and easy to maintain and basically, non-living. I pulled enough weeds and dug up enough roots to last me the rest of my life --while my neighbors drove by and gawked and waved at me with their Starbuck's cups. Beotches.
We spend a lot of time keeping up the front yard, so my goal for this side section is to just keep it clean (read: miles and miles of weed barrier underneath that mulch) and change out the plants in the pots seasonally.
It might not look like much, but it is WAY BETTER than it was. And now I can do my nails. And eat ice cream. And take a nap.
