The Kidz Are Hitched

Welp. This one is married!

My rat brother.
The theme was Lord of the Rings slash medieval, which means that the groomsmen all carried swords. Um, real swords.

Traditionally, back in like the beginning of time or whatever, all the knights and friends of the groom carried swords to the marital ceremony in order to protect the couple.

But anyhoo. The wedding was outside on one of Arkansas' many beautiful lakes. They timed it right at sunset and it could not have been any better. I wish my little rat brother all the happiness in the world. I'm so glad I have a sister.

See G's dragon lapel pin? We tried to fit the theme...
The bride and groom shared a dance - and they've both been ballroom dancing for years - so that was beyond fantastic. My brain cannot compute that this man in a suit is the same guy who, as a baby, used to drool all over my homework when I was in high school. Can. Not. Compute.

Also, I got to dance with my brother and G danced with the new sister. It's my favorite memory of the whole night. No pictures of that, but I'll never forget it.

As the sun set, the dancing continued, along with enjoying the wedding cake and groom's cake. It really did feel like being somewhere in Tolkien's woods or something.

They are off on a cruise now. Where, oh where, did they get that travel bug? :) Next on their travel list is Denver, (maybe within a year or so, once life calms down for them) and when they come we're going to treat them to some fun stuff as our wedding present to them.
