So I changed something major and don't think I've mentioned it on the blog yet. I quit Supper Club back in January. So much quitting these days. The K-8 school, most of the tutoring, the Supper Club.
And yet a whole lot of new things. New job, teaching multiple classes, and a new group.

I started a conversation club. I wanted a safe space in which to have specific topic-centered adult conversation. And I got it. Each month, a group of us meet at my place to catch up and to talk about a designated topic. No research, no pressure. Just adult chat. And food and wine. The distinguished group members are M-Dawg and The Russkie. We're leaning hard on Nat King Cole to waive off her family responsibilities and join us, but so far we have not been successful. This is not a group that gives up easily, though, so she should remain vigilant. Or just safe herself the hassle and give in already.
Thus far we have discussed organizational tips and religion. Yes, really. Next month is serial killers. I'm not making this up.
And speaking of conversation, I've decided that I'm going to complain more often. Because it brings me gifts, apparently. And I like this.
Yesterday were the precious spring bunnies, and tonight the Russkie brought me the best surprise!
At first I was like, "What the...?" and then she said she just wanted to encourage me. And then I was like, "I gotta start blogging about life crap more often," as I eyed the chocolate bunny.
It sure does beat the real bunny.

Oh shut it, mama. |
And another new thing: have you tried these new-fangled things called podcasts? My, my, they are entertaining! I downloaded the
Serial podcasts produced by This American Life and
wow. I'm going to refrain from talking more about it because the depths of my technological and cultural ignorance can at times be staggering. Suffice it to say that this lil Columbus has discovered a new world.
So, at the risk of forfeiting future gifts, I must admit that things are on the upswing over at dawrighthouse. It's not all that bad. BUT! If you'd like to write my Austen paper for me, I'll pay you $1,000. Come on over.
