So I would just like to say that the library still looks like this.
And the dining room/kitchen still look like this.
The contractor was supposed to finish up today but called in sick with walking pneumonia. Like that's an excuse. So now it won't be finished until Friday at the earliest. Because apparently he didn't want to apply sealant while violently throwing up, even though I suggested he wear a bucket around his neck because I am paying for this after all. It's this sort of attitude that really makes Jesus proud. Me being salt and light and all that.
BUT! A good dose of perspective never hurt anyone. During this season of Thanksgiving I will be extra, extra thankful for the many blessings in my life (like those of you reading this sentence right now!). It's nice to have a house. That has a library. That has lots of books in it. That I have the ability to read. It's nice to be able to improve our house. In a city that we love. In a comfortable and safe neighborhood. That is just a hop, skip, and a jump from Nat King Cole and Chef Campo. It is nice to simply be inconvenienced by a trivial thing instead of getting my world turned upside down by bigger problems. I'll take it. I grudgingly told the guy I hope he feels better soon. :)
And I have to say that I got a compliment on my fall decorations today! Apparently I am inspiring a close peep to slap up some decs of her own! This thrills me so I must take this opportunity to display some more random Thanksgiving doodads:
Also? I register for class tomorrow. Hear that? It is reality banging on my door.
I am thankful for...
ReplyDeletethe turkey-riding Pilgrim. I've always loved that guy.
