Anyhoo.
It's snowing again in Denver. I don't think we've been out of the single digits in…what?…a week now?
Remember a few weeks ago when we had the Disney Cartoon Character plumber come over and install a humidifier on our heating system? So that when the heat comes on, it releases water into the air to cut down on dryness? Well, guess what G discovered?
The condensation (that we can't see) has frozen on the bottom of our kitchen door that leads outside to the deck! It's like we live in the Arctic.
When I go for my crazy winter walks, I have to wear my trax. And my rain pants. And waterproof hiking boots. And Under Armor long underwear.
That's snow on the rug. We're messy, but we're not THAT messy. |
I have talked before about books that I read each year around Christmas. If you are looking for something to read, try these out! You won't be disappointed.
First and foremost, this one. It is lighthearted and hysterical.
Skipping Christmas by John Grisham REVIEW here |
A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, illustrated by P. J. Lynch. REVIEW here.
Other books that I recommend but haven't reviewed at length are pictured here.
Also, some great holiday tune recommendations are here. I don't have any new ones this year because my taste doesn't change. I'm super interesting that way.
OK, time to down the coffee and brave the winter weather in order to see Catching Fire (yes!) and run errands that we put off yesterday so we could lay around in our pj's. Thank goodness for gift cards that need to be used up and our REI dividend left over from the Africa trip preparations. I see a Sonic run in our future...
I downloaded some new Christmas songs this year! I got Kelly Clarkson's Christmas album (I like her voice and music so I thought it was worth a shot) Bare Naked Ladies album, Bare Naked Holidays & Pentatonix Christmas Album. All good and it's nice to have some new tunes in the mix.
