The Best Kind of Weekend

The best kind of weekend involves a good friend and good food.  Really, nothing else is needed except wine.

Yesterday we explored 16th street.  It's a must-see since this is her third trip to Denver.  And really, the whole sight-seeing thing was just a ruse to get us to Larimer Street so we could explore the awesome restaurants.

You don't need to seek visitor information when you have your own personal tour guide.

You can sort of kind of see the iconic clock tower in the background.  But, hey, it is so not the focus of this picture.

This is A-peep with her first glass of wine.
Aaaaaaaaand moving on to the second glass...
I really wanted to take A-peep to Osteria Marco.  They have a good selection of dishes, ranging from creative paninis to ante pastas to complex entrees.  But mainly I wanted her to try their house-made cheese.  It is served chilled and is a mild, slightly salty flavor that will basically turn your world upside down and ruin you for any other kind of cheese ever.

A glimpse of the house-made cheese on fresh bread before it was frantically devoured by yours truly.
Obvs

Lucy isn't sure what to think about her new roomie, but at a basic level she disapproves.  See how blurry this pic is?  That's how pictures of her usually turn out.  She's always on the move.

Ah, Denver.  I love how artistic you are.

Why yes, I am sitting here blogging in my pj's.  It is almost time to force myself into presentable clothes and explore more of CO...
