Last night we celebrated New Year's Eve in style: we had a grand feast and watched Galaxy Quest (Merry Christmas to G from Wife of The Year) and a couple of episodes of Downton Abbey.
Fruits and vegetables totally cancel out the fried sausage and cheese. This has been scientifically proven. |
Actually G and I stayed up well into the night, talking about upcoming changes and things. There is a lot of uncertainty but also a lot of excitement about what this year will bring. Never a dull moment, that's for sure.
We've asked Lucy to refer to us as "Mamma" and "Pappa" - pronounced the way they say it in Downton Abbey - the super uppity British way ('muh-MAH' and 'puh-PAH'). |
We woke up today with grand plans to go hiking and then looked outside.
We promptly changed our minds and as of right now (3:09 p.m.) I am still in my pj's.
See? We are a couple of super models over here.
Here's to a new year and new beginnings and a few much-needed endings.
Here's to more Literary Society and Supper Club and reading and nerding it up.
Here's to cultivating a lovey dovey little girl bunny.
Here's to a couple of very exciting trips in 2014.
Here's to me miraculously surviving my first semester of grad school (books have been ordered!) and hopefully gaining some teaching experience at the college level.
Here's to a year full of Meals on Wheels and potentially some other volunteer opportunities.
Here's to an upcoming GIRLS' WEEKEND.
Here's to goals and resolutions!
Here's to another year to make memories with peeps - family and friends.
Happy New Year!
Hello, 2014!
