If I had to pick just one season as my fave, it would be fall, but really I like the whole September-January timeframe. I just ride the wave of holiday cheer until right after a new year hits and then all it does (around here anyway!) is snow for like 6 months. Not that I'm complaining!
So pumpkins are up all over the house, and we have registered for a couple of 5Ks {insert chuckles here} to ensure that we get up early on the weekends to enjoy the fall days before they are gone. PSL's are consumed daily {duh} and word to the wise: Caribou Coffee is not as good as Starbuck's on this one. Just trust me.
The nights are so cool that it is impossible to get out of bed in the mornings. The days are crisp and the sunlight has that sideways slant to it that it gets right before Daylight Savings Time kicks in {thank you LORD for an extra hour at some point next month}.
Here's to the beginning of football and cozy nights and wool socks and sweatpants. Here's to pumpkin-flavored everything, and planning a fall brunch, and chili season, and brisk afternoon walks. Here's to scarves and boots and extra hot coffees in the afternoon.
Lucy Loo (who is just about two) agrees. She likes to cuddle with her new buddy, a sting ray. They're twinkies.
On another note entirely, I would like you to know that we are still slowly but surely making progress on the house.
Remember this disastrous corner of the bedroom?
It now looks like this.
Kudos to us. :) Who knew Target had such cute furniture? I've never lived in a place where going to Target was convenient, and now I do, and it's like a whole new world! We went there over the weekend for one picture frame and left with three ottomans and a cart full of beautiful plastic flowers that I put up in the library. I'm going to have to get a second job if these shopping trips continue.
Hope you are enjoying fall, too! (Even my Florida peeps who live in a sauna.)
I am going to get a little fall this year - Brian's getting married Oct. 26th near Ozark.

ReplyDeleteYeah, whatever. Fall-schmall (not bitter or anything). As I'm typing this, I hear the air conditioning, chugging away in the background...
