This morning I alternated cups of coffee and chapters of Huck Finn in between brunch prep. I made the pumpkin bread and the candy corn goodies last night, so all I really had to do before the main event was chop a bunch of fruits and veggies. To balance out the cheese and sour cream and potatoes and lard that made up the rest of the food. :)
The guests of honor.
It's a wee bit intimidating to cook for someone whose nickname - on the blog and in real life - is Chef Campo. The key is to keep the mimosas coming. Long before the actual food.
Menu:
Home made biscuits and gravy
Veggie Frittata
Bacon
Cheesy Hash brown casserole
Fresh fruit cups
Good friends
Good times
It was such a busy weekend that I didn't even get around to a nap until today. We were going to see The Martian in theater after the brunch, but, when compared with a cozy afternoon "reading" Huck Finn, there was no way that was actually going to happen.
Now it's Sunday night and I have about 100 tests to grade for my "vacation money job." I try not to focus on the grading part. I try to think only about the vacation part.
For those of you lucky dogs who get Columbus Day off, enjoy it! I'll pay you $1,000 to teach my class for me.
Glad to see you post two days in a row! I know why I'm blogging less, so I guess you're as busy as me! Do you like Huck Finn? I can't tell from your post. I really enjoyed it.
