Down South

Hello from the land of 97 degrees with 100% humidity. I don't like it but my skin sure does. And my hair. My body's like, what is this, moisture? Like, in the air???

This is a Gama weekend; I'm with mine and G is with his. Which means that you'll get pics of my adventure but not G's because he never sends me any. Because he doesn't take any. I'll remedy that tomorrow.

Back in Denver, we boarded Loo Loo Bell after a Sonic run. Although she loves riding in the car and going to Sonic, she was not sad to see us go.

A close up of her furry mug:

After a thousand years of driving through Kansas, we're here. It's hot. But it's great to see family before all the chaos of the fall semester descends. Things are getting insane with G's job as well. When you add selling the house on top of all that, you get two very grouchy introverts + one very furry, little grouchy introvert. It's nice to take a little break from all that.

This morning I picked up Gama and we drove a few hours to her sister's house. We took a break for a very country lunch. Try as hard as I might, I can not get Gam to look at the right spot on my phone.

We hung out with my great aunt and I took some shots of the house that my Gama's mom lived in until she was 95. I called her 'nanny' and used to hang out a lot with her when I was very young.

She used to walk me to kindergarten in the mornings and let me fill up my pockets with pebbles. She also used to let me hang out under the quilt "fort" while she and her friends would sew it. I actually have (and use) several quilts that she made.

Anyhoo, it's time to take a cold shower and read. Must be up before the sun to meet Gama in the morning. Hello, country breakfast!!!
