Then...home sweet messy disorganized only-sort-of-clean home.
I foresaw us unpacking, doing laundry, prepping for the week, and even decorating the Christmas tree last night. Instead, I napped for three hours and then frantically did tutoring prep. Got up early this morning to finish one of my projects. I have one more week to finish the other one.
But!
This is the last week of teaching and taking classes. Laaaaaaaaaa!
Some more tidbits from our long weekend:
Most of the cliff dwellings have several of these large underground rooms called kivas. The Pueblo actually kept them covered with a clay ceiling, climbing up and down via a small ladder placed into a hole in the roof. These kivas had places for fires, fully ventilated from outside, as well as shelves and floor space for plenty of family and friends.
Here I am, climbing into a real kiva! If you're claustrophobic, these aren't for you.
Also, if you have ever driven through snowy mountain passes, you know how there are runaway trunk ramps off to the side of the road, in the middle of sharp descents? Have you ever seen one that has been used?? This was a first for us:

Check it out! Lots of gravel churned up. |

Aaaaand now it's back to real life. I will pay you $1,000 to come clean the house.
That looks like so much fun! I really want to go check it out!
ReplyDeleteAnd that house cleaning... I'll pass on ;)
